A River Runs Through It......

Well, Thursday is market day and everyone knows if it is raining, they won't see the turtlewoman. The sun was shining when I left my office and the "chance of showers" was slowly fading from my memory. So, off to market to set up for an evening of selling.  Was I wrong!  The skies opened and it POURED!  I mean rain bouncing off the pavement! I look behind me and see it....a river 2 feet wide going through my stall. Oh, dirty words.  And no sales.  More dirty words.  Packing up in the rain...everything weighs 10 times more.  More dirty words.  But the most amazing awareness came to me....I am an optimist!  I really thought the sun would come out!

What to do?

The one good thing about rainy spring days....deciding what to do today gets much easier!  Going to stay in and work at my bench!  No worrying about yard work or tending to my chickens!  Creative day with a fire in the wood stove (yes, it really is spring) and some good music.  Later......

First market, plus me & Steven Tyler......

Thursday evening was my first market of the season and it was cold and rainy.....bah!  People don't like to try on jewelry in the cold and rain.   On a lighter note....I watched a brief interview between Matt Lauer of the Today Show and Steven Tyler last week.  I loved it when Matt asked where Steven's creative ideas come from.  I always struggle with this question, so I listened intently...."they are just in my head!"  YEAH!  Me too. That's it, there ain't no more! Wake up and they are there...."poof" they are there, begging to come out. Creative ideas just appear...and then there is always a little help (inspiration) from my friends!

Back to work!

It's market time!!!! I have been at my bench for days and days but the results are encouraging! I will attempt to post pictures.  Have also been working on my website...I find photographing my jewelry a challenge!  Slowly getting there.  First market is this Thursday in Snohomish!  See you there!
